Veda Massanari-Thatcher

SHE/HER

As a queer, neuro-divergent, and sex positive person who grew up in a very small conservative town, I understand the importance of having a safe space where you can explore all of the different facets of yourself. I hope to co-create an environment with you where you can show up authentically and feel empowered to investigate normatively taboo topics at whatever stage you are at.

In working together, I will bring a sex-work, kink/BDSM, polyamorous, pleasure, ethical slut positive approach where these topics will be treasured not shamed.

I am a second year graduate student at Columbia University specializing in clinical practice. Prior to pursuing my social work career, I attended the College of Wooster where I majored in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Philosophy. I offer a therapeutic lens grounded in feminist, social justice, trauma-aware, and intersectional theories where both individual and structural challenges can be explored.

I have experience working with sexual trauma and domestic violence survivors, sex workers, those who are HIV/STI positive, and adults with disabilities, as well as providing sexual health education. I am passionate about working with all folks, especially those who are queer, neuro-divergent, struggling with grief and/or survivors of sexual trauma.

I believe access to mental health services should be available and accessible to all, and I will work with you to make sure you can get the care you need.

If you’re interested in working together, email me today, and we can find a time to meet and see if working together would be a good fit.
