Nathalie Baer Chan, LMSW

SHE/HER

Therapy is not something I possess and distribute; it's a space we build together. It's an empty room we decorate with life experience and personality until it starts to feel uniquely yours.

Identity is inextricable from the work we do together, and I specialize in AAPI issues, multicultural identity and multiracial couples, immigration, and LGBTQ+ issues. These further overlap with my passions for healthcare equity and activism for collective liberation. Clinical social work cannot be the bandaid that makes oppression easier to stomach; it should be part of the work that gets us free.

I have an integrative approach, so I call on different therapy techniques depending on the client’s needs. Some tools I use frequently include parts work, narrative therapy, tracking recurring thought patterns, and creating timelines of experiences, emotions, and sensory memory. Let's dive in and find what's right for you.

Together—as individual and therapist, couple and therapist, or polycule and therapist—we form a team that explores everything from communication to conflict, pain to pleasure, birth to grief, and builds skills to get you through all life might throw at you.

To get started, what questions do you have for yourself to explore?

If you’re interested in working together, email me today, and we can find a time to meet and see if working together would be a good fit.
