Melanie Forman, LMSW
SHE/HER
Many of us face universal struggles such as shame, guilt, and loneliness, which can deeply impact our sense of self and relationships. I work with individuals and couples to explore these emotional blocks and offer tools to move through them.
My work is grounded in the understanding that our bodies hold wisdom and can be powerful tools for healing. My approach combines somatic practices and embodiment techniques to help you regulate your nervous system, release stored trauma, and cultivate greater self-awareness.
Using a strengths-based and person-centered approach, our work together will be tailored toward meeting you where you are, with the understanding that you are the expert of your own experience.
My goal is to help you gain insight into your emotional patterns and learn to attune to both your own needs and the needs of others you may be in relationship with.
Connection and safety are at the heart of my practice, creating a space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to explore your inner world with curiosity and compassion. In this environment, we can work together to integrate your emotional and physical experiences, allowing you to reconnect with your body and emotions in ways that promote well-being and a deeper sense of connection with yourself and others.
I received my Master of Social Work degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and am licensed to practice therapy in the state of New York. I have many years of experience working with adults living with psychosis, helping people find a sense of belonging within communities, and supporting them in living fulfilling, authentic lives. When I'm not working, you can always catch me in a hot yoga class or indulging in some juicy reality TV!
