Colleen Risavy, LMSW
SHE/HER
I’m a compassionate therapist who primarily works with adolescents and young adults to help them feel safe and confident in their bodies and in their relationships. Together, we can work through any anxiety or doubt you carry to build self-acceptance and self-worth. We can help you build stronger, more meaningful relationships with those you care about.
We can challenge unhelpful stigmas around sex and reclaim the word pleasure. In my practice, we strive for insight and inner peace, however that looks to you.
My therapy approach is rooted in holistic practice. I blend interventions to meet the needs of each person, using psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic experiencing, and more.
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Instead, I take a holistic perspective to meet the needs of each person.
I received my Masters from the Columbia School of Social Work. I’m a licensed therapist in New York and New Jersey. I provide therapy to adolescents, adults, couples, and polycules. I work under a licensed clinical social worker and I'm currently training to become an AASECT-certified sex therapist. I am bisexual-identifying and LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, poly, sex worker, and kink & fetish affirming.
